of renowned House of Franck Muller

 

Franck Muller Watchland is pleased to announce that the WPHH JAPAN 2015 will be hosted at THE SODOH in Kyoto, Japan.

The exhibition will be organized by the Watchland Group, which owns nine watch brands. These include mainstay brand Franck Muller, founded by the genius watchmaker of the same name, Backes & Strauss, known as the masters of diamonds, and Cvstos, a brand that combines cutting-edge technologies with bold aesthetics. Franck Muller, the Group’s cornerstone brand, is noted for its distinct philosophy, which it incorporates into its watch design in the form of fantasy elements, for example, to produce a quintessential aesthetic. The technologies and spirit fostered through the brand’s unfailingwillingness to keep pushing the boundaries are widely shared across the entire Group.

At the WPHH JAPAN 2015 in KYOTO, the third event of its kind, a special exhibition featuring both highlighted items for this year as well as a premium collection outlining the Group’s 23-year history will be open to the public throughout the event period. Other celebratory happenings will also be organized, including a presentation of the technical mastery of Swiss horology developed by a long line of virtuoso watchmakers and special lunches prepared by four celebrated chefs. The Franck Muller Café, meanwhile, will be serving up a fusion of Japanese and Western cuisine.

In addition, kimono designer Masahiro Nakagawa and tapestry producer Hiromu Takao—both well-known figures in their respective fields—along with long-established Nishijin weaving textile firm HOSOO have engaged in special collaborations with Franck Muller. Reflecting the extent to which Franck Muller’s philosophy of viewing time as a precious resource has resonated with the collaborators, these joint projects have produced  original limited-edition items that will be offered for exhibition and sale at the event.

Presented by the incomparable Franck Muller Watchland, this event promises to be both innovative and at the same time grounded in tradition. We hope you will enjoy it.
