The year 2022 marks the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Seventy years of reign, the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. For this occasion and after submitting the designs to Buckingham Palace, Franck Muller is delighted to present an exceptional limited edition applying its fine watchmaking talents. Featuring the colours and emblems of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II, all in its famous Vanguard case, the edition highlights priceless values: history and incredible know-how.

The limited collection

To celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022, Franck Muller presents three very special collections in honour of Her Majesty. Each collection will consist of 70 timepieces bearing the serial numbers of each year of her reign, from 1952 to 2022.

The limited edition features collections designed in search of a perfect fusion of technology and beauty. The first version dedicated for the ladies is inspired by the historic milestone of the Platinum Jubilee emblem and Her Majesty’s royal cypher at 6 o’clock. The second lady collection is in hand-setting diamonds. The third version, the men’s collection, is decorated with the colours of the Union Jack flag and the Queen’s cypher placed at 12 o’clock.

On the back, the Platinum Jubilee emblem is engraved along with the serial number indicating a year of her reign. The raised numerals are painted and applied by hand on each dial. In reference to the Platinum Jubilee, the crown of the watches will be made of this material and Franck Muller has made unique straps with colours matching this event and the United Kingdom. To mark the occasion, each watch will be delivered with a special limited edition box.

 The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Celebrating 70 years of service to the 15 Kingdoms of which Her Majesty is the sovereign. This commemoration will exceptionally take place over a four-day period, from the 2nd to the 5th June 2022. Several events and activities will take place to honour this much-loved monarch.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 emblem

Young people aged 13 to 25 were able to take part in an art competition to sum up the 70 years of The Queen's reign and create the emblem of this celebration. Edward Roberts, a student of 19 year old from Leeds University, stood out and won the challenge with his sophisticated design. The emblem depicts the crown of St Edward in a stylised manner with the number 70.  Meaning "eternal", the elegant Perpetua font is a tribute to the first British monarch to celebrate 70 years of rule.

The Royal Cypher

The cyphers of British monarchs include the initial of the sovereign's first name and title. This is usually accompanied by a crown. The title is designated by the letter R - short for "Rex" or "Regina", Latin word for king and queen. The crown is a representation of St. Edward's crown.
