For the fifth consecutive year, Franck Muller sponsored the Rally Maya México in a journey of 1,100 km through the most emblematic destinations in the region.
The Rally Maya México, also known as a “museum on wheels” among car lovers, is a unique opportunity to get to know the natural, cultural, gastronomic and archaeological richness of the Mayan world. The competition brought together more than 100 crews including drivers and co-drivers from Europe, South America, Central America, and the Mexican Republic.
The objective of the Mayan Rally is to carry out transits and regularities, testing the ability of the pilot and co-pilot to maintain the pre-established speeds in a determined time accurately. For this competition, cars must be over 40 years old and have a minimum of 90 percent originality to be able to participate in one of the three categories of the event: vehicles manufactured from 1886-1949, 1950-1969 and 1970-1981.
Franck Muller is proud to present the Rally Maya México Limited Edition 2022, the model in a round case with a Chronograph version, which complements the collection decicated to the Mexican event of classic car regularities that took place from May 20th to the 29th, 2022. This year, Franck Muller presents a new 60-piece commemorative collection for the Rally: 25 pieces in a 42mm steel case, 25 pieces in a 42mm rose gold case and 10 pieces in a 39mm steel case for women.
This collection takes inspiration from racing cars of the 1960s, especially the iconic Maserati Bridcage. On the face of the watch, you can appreciate the polished steel numerals in relief againts a white background. Also notable are its three blue/white chronograph dials, whose red arrow-shaped hands take inspiration from the famous Maserati “trident” logo. Therefore we can display the seconds of the watch at 9 o’clock; while the central hand, portrays its importance. At the back of the timepiece, you can appreciate the automatic movement and the rotor inspired by the rim of the Maserati Bridcage, thanks to its sapphire crystal back.
As a tradition, the logo of the event - which symbolizes the mystical journey of Kukulkan, the feathered serpent -, is presented at 8 o'clock, representing in turn, the 8th edition of this event and the mark of an infinite journey through time.
Contest of Elegance 2022
One of the most anticipated nights of the Mexican Rally Maya is the “2022 Contest of Elegance” Gala Dinner, sponsored by Franck Muller. It is here where the three best participating cars with the Elegance Award are awarded and recognized, receiving a special trophy made entirely of vintage automotive parts.
Journey with a cause
The Rally Maya stands out of being an event that promotes responsibility towards social causes. Franck Muller is proud to collaborate, for the fifth consecutive year in the mision to altruistically support those who need it most. This year again a donation was made from a percentage of the sales of the Rally Maya México Limited Edition 2022 watches, which went to the “Association to Help Children with Development Disorders A.C.”
